His passions and expertise include international education\, global issues and trends in education\, and history (Great War and maritime history). His recent re search on the internationalisation of education in Australian schooling ha s won a number of research awards including "most outstanding postgraduate thesis on a topic relating to international education" presented by the I nternational Education Association of Australia (IEAA). He was also awarde d a 'new voice in educational leadership research scholarship' from the Au stralian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL) He has a number of publica tions in these areas and has been a keynote speaker on these and other fie lds\, most recently at a Global Education forum at the Gold Coast\, Queens land and in Madagascar. In addition to his work in tertiary education he i s also providing consultancy services in international teacher education.
