Members, I'm sure you've set aside time for the Foodbank Food Drive at Floreat Forum on Saturday 18th April even though so far, only Donna, David, Jane and I have registered for a shift.
We have rostered 4 shifts, the same as last time - 9:00 - 11:00 (2 registered), 11:00 - 1:00 (1 registered), 1:00 - 3:00 (0 registered) and 3:00 - 5:00pm (3 registered).
Here's the registration link. If you can't work out how to register, please email me with your preferred shift and I will register on your behalf.
The last food drive was very successful so let's make this one even more so. What an amazing difference we can make to people's lives by collecting as much food as possible.
Friends of Rotary, please register or let us know if you are interested in coming along.
The Leederville Sporting Club contacted me to let me know that we left the urn on after the 31st of March meeting. Fortunately, it didn't burn the building down and we've been asked to make sure we turn it off in future.

LITTLE CREATURES TOUR
A reminder there's no club breakfast on Tuesday as some members are touring Little Creatures Brewery, 40 Mews Road, Fremantle. See you there ready to start the tour at 3:00pm. Who knows, we might stay for something to eat after dinner.
I have to be home in time to pick up Jin and Sarah after their trip to Sydney.

Our military historian and friend of the club, Dr Mark Fielding, will be speaking to us on 21st April.
We are meeting in the Glasshouse (downstairs room) at Kailis which only accommodates 26 people. You may have friends you'd like to invite so be quick so you don't miss out.
Mark will speak to us about Private Arthur Blackburn: Forgotten Anzac Legend.
From the morning of 25 April 1915 to a VC at Poziers in 1916 to leading a battalion in the Second World War, this presentation will briefly outline the extraordinary life and military service of Arthur Blackburn, a forgotten Anzac hero.
Rotary friends, please let us know if you'd like to join us for breakfast and this interesting presentation. We always learn something of value when Mark speaks to us.
Jin and Judy's grandaughter Sarah are enjoying their trip to Sydney. They arrived Thursday night and have been busy since.
They visited the zoo, had some ferry rides and visited Luna Park on Friday, and caught the train to the Blue Mountains yesterday. I'm not sure what they are up to today.
The bridge climb is on the agenda in the next few days thanks to Marcus, Laurie and Mary. Thanks to Donna too for sponsoring this trip so Jin could visit Sydney.
Jin and Sarah return to Perth on Tuesday 14th April and Jin leaves for the North West Safari on 18th April so there will be no need for student hosting until she returns on the 8th of May.

MY HOME UPDATE
We might not be there to help put the furniture together, makes the beds and fill the pantries, however members can be proud of our contribution to the 24 "My Home" units completed in Albany.
There's a team on the ground from Perth along with local volunteers getting the units ready for their new occupants.
We've helped change the lives of 12 families who are moving into their forever homes.
I wasn't able to organiae for a team from our club to travel to Albany to assist as the dates kept changing and it was too short notice. We are there in spirit.

LIFT THE LID WALK
Participants are being sought for a Lift the Lid Walk leaving from UWA at 9:00am on 18th April. Will we put a Western Endeavour team together?
