REMEMBER, NO MEETING TUESDAY 3RD MARCH as a number of members have volunteered to count bicycles in the Super Tuesday Bicycle Count. Counters, have you printed your worksheets and instructions? Tuesday night is our movie night at the Sommerville so see you there if you are coming along.
Remember the Swan @ Surf catch-up Friday night 6th March. It's a casual get together so we get to know more of our fellow Rotarians in our community group.
A reminder that this week, Laurie G is on roster for Bulletin Article/Photos and Jennifer is student host.

Strong Teeth, Strong Body, Strong Mind
This week, we had the pleasure of sharing breakfast and fellowship with the Rotary Club of Osborne Park, where we heard from John and Jan Owen about the inspiring work of the Kimberley Dental Team.
John and Jan first visited Halls Creek in 2009 through Jan’s involvement in a choir tour. During this visit, they identified an opportunity to apply their extensive dental expertise to improve oral health through screening and education within the community.
Since then, the program has expanded to include regular visits by volunteer dentists, dental health education, and the distribution of dental care packs. Children are assessed in the morning, with follow-up treatment provided the same day where required. Dentures can also be produced on site.
What began as a single visit has grown into a remarkable long-term initiative, comprising 32 trips to the Kimberley over 17 years, delivering more than $3.5 million in dental services. The team operates with two vehicles, off-road caravans, and a mini truck to reach remote communities.
With approximately 85% of dental issues being preventable, the Kimberley Dental Team continues to focus on education and regular reviews to promote lifelong oral health. Their commitment and impact are truly inspiring.
John and Jan have also published a book, Outback Dental Adventures, which details their journey and the work of the Kimberley Dental Team. Further information is available at www.kimberleydentalteam.com.

Clear Water, Clear Minds:
Safe Water for Timor-Leste
Rotary Projects East Timor-Leste continues to be a critical program, assuring reliable access to water in Timor-Leste since 2010. Rotarian Max Bird has helped lead a shift to make sure the water is of the safest quality possible, particularly in schools. Read more on P58 of the RDU magazine here: https://epubs.media/rotarydownunder/ezine/2026/687/
Max will be talking to us at a joint meeting with Rotary Crawley on Thursday 12th March at 5:30pm. There will be a buffet dinner and drinks are available.
Club members, please register before 9th March so I can provide numbers for catering.
This is a perfect opportunity to invite a friend or colleague to hear an interesting speaker.
Friends of Rotary and bulletin subscribers, if you'd like to attend, please register here.

Who's registered for district training? Let's see how many members we can encourage to attend. There's always something new to learn and the fellowship is invaluable. We might learn something at District Assembly that might help invigorate the club.
Book here for the Foundation Grants Seminar (at least 1 member from the club must attend)
Here's a chance to get together with our friends from the Swan to Surf Community group.
No agenda...just sharing fellowship.
